‘Doomsday’ vault design unveiled

February 13th, 2007 · No Comments · Last updated: July 18th, 2008

Now here is some good news! My only suggestion would be to extend the vault to not only house seeds but also store humanity’s knowledge. This knowledge store would have to be updated ever so often of course.

One thing I do find interesting: the doomsday vault project seems to reckon that there is still enough technology available to reach and open it in a time of catastrophe. This vault near the north pole does no good if we’re back in the stone age.

BBC NEWS | Science/Nature | ‘Doomsday’ vault design unveiled
